Four easy tips to stay BALANCED this Autumn

Autumn Season is inherently scattering – windy, dry, cool, and unpredictable – it can leave you cold, fearful, scattered and ungrounded. Too much Vata energy can be disorienting. Every season requires effort to stay harmonized and balanced.

Here are 4 Easy Steps to stay balanced this Fall from Ayurveda wisdom, a traditional system of maintaining wellness through natural practices. Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga...

1. Stay warm, hydrated and eat warming foods~ Cover up in layers to stay warm. When outside make sure you have your neck and head covered, especially on those windy days! Stay hydrated with warm teas and room temperature water throughout the day. Eat less raw veggies and fruits, and add more warming foods and spices such as ginger, cardamon and cinnamon.

2. Self Massage~Autumn is drying. Self massage, abhyanga, is a massage that's done with warm oil. The oil is applied on the entire body, from the scalp to the soles of your feet. It's the most popular massage in Ayurveda.. To aid in your sleep, try this before bed. Rub your ears and feet with oil ( sesame or Ayurvedic oils.) Massage for a few minutes.

3. Restorative practices~ Go inward and digest life through relaxed awareness. Join us for Pranayama breathing practices on Monday eve in November to manage your mood and Guided Meditation & Yoga Nidra on Thursday eve. to rest and restore.

4. Enjoy nature~ Being outdoors when the season is changing will help you to integrate the changes the season brings. Enjoy the fresh crisp air. Marvel at the beauty of nature, Go for a brisk walk, crunching in the leaves!
